The Male Recumbent

" As Einstein predicted, their souls and their futures would be completely unchanged, while the world around them had evolved and had gone on. Men who barley belonged in one era were doomed to be set loose in another, even strange time."(Vea,53)

This passage set a lot of significance out because the message that it sets out is that the people in prison become trapped in one world that nothing significant actually changes. Life outside those four walls pass by and changes, and becomes something they never expected it to be. they become trapped in a world where they are trying to figure out what is going to happen next. They made a decision where they let the outside world become something that wasn't part of their life anymore.

Questions:
1) why was the sheriff disturbed when Jesse wanted to see Bernard?
2) Do you think Jesse and Sykes were in danger when Bernard was brought in?
