French Lessons

'"Did you know this man, sergeant?" she asked in a raised voice. " Didi you know this man?" " NO!" said Jesse" But he surely knew me"'(Valdez,85)

the significance that this quote revealed was how Jesse gained respect for a man in so little time. It showed to me that when some one is alone they seek for someone where they can express themselves to them, and console them as well as a place  where they can forget  about all the negative things that are happening to, and around them. I found that it wasn't easy for Jesse or Hong to leave their loved ones far, and know that life wasn't being promised to them each day that passed by so they panicked but tried to think for the best to come. When Jesse found Hongs' corpse he seemed as he didn't want to believe it was him, but he had  to come to reality. His emotions and the statement he made represented the honesty he gave out to Hong, and how he poured out who he was to him. He lost a friend who he met in little time but got to know well. The message it sent out was that having to get to know a person doesn't take long when they come with honesty and are in need of a friend because of loneliness.

The Male Recumbent

" As Einstein predicted, their souls and their futures would be completely unchanged, while the world around them had evolved and had gone on. Men who barley belonged in one era were doomed to be set loose in another, even strange time."(Vea,53)

This passage set a lot of significance out because the message that it sets out is that the people in prison become trapped in one world that nothing significant actually changes. Life outside those four walls pass by and changes, and becomes something they never expected it to be. they become trapped in a world where they are trying to figure out what is going to happen next. They made a decision where they let the outside world become something that wasn't part of their life anymore.

Questions:

The House of Toast

"On several occasions victims have been known to choose the attorney as their attacker when the defendant happened to be dressed in a better suit than his lawyer's. An honest victim is as rare as an honest defendant"(34-35,Véa)

Although this piece of a passage in chapter two of gods go begging isn't long it sets out a lot of meaning. The Significance this passage sets out is that appearance reflects on a persons way of being and personality. It can also send out vibes being negative or positive. But a main quality can be the expression a person carries in their image and the way they present themselves. A person being dressed wont complete the role of a professional and direct lawyer, attorney, defendant, or whomever they may be if they don't have the full knowledge of how to manage their role and to support who they are and where stand carrying full honesty. A person can be easily fooled and manipulated with out actually knowing who they are going to confront until the person speaks.
